OVERVIEW

The course will introduce the main features and currents of contemporary philosophy, from a perspective that reflects the speculative posture of the Professor. General introduction will be complemented by in-depth study of major figures in contemporary philosophy (through the analysis of one of their main works).

AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES

The Course aims to provide a systematic preparation on the itinerary of Western thought from post-Hegelian perspectives to today’s speculation, and to provide a specific in-depth study of the most significant voices of philosophy from the 19th and 20th centuries.

Students will know the main features and currents of contemporary philosophy; they will develop their criticism and their original, independent point of view.

PREREQUISITES

Knowledge of the fundamental cultural categories that have substantiated the Western civilization and the Western thought is required.

TEACHING METHODS

The Lessons will be held on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, 10.15-11.45 am.
