Students must have a good knowledge of general history between the ancient and the medieval period AIMS AND CONTENT LEARNING OUTCOMES Students will have a solid knowledge of the major themes and processes in the history of Europe between the 15th and the 19th centuries. Students will also learn a method to critically analyze historiographic literature and sources of early modern history. The aim of the teaching is to provide students with conceptual tools and interpretative categories to reconstruct the history of the past, to critically read a text or a document, to establish connections between processes and events, and to communicate with a scientific language the results of a reading or research. At the end of the teaching the students must be able to present and critically discuss the proposed and / or recommended texts for the individual study activity. AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES Analysing fundamental themes and issues of modern history by presenting different historiographical interpretations and perspectives. Illustrating historical research methods and procedures also by working with sources in order to stimulate a critical approach and an initial knowledge of criteria used to build historiographical discourses As far as learning outcomes are concerned, the student, at the end of the course, will be able to understand a text of history and historiography of the modern age, discuss it and insert it into the current scientific debate. The student must also have developed disciplinary skills, as well as basic knowledge of the subject. PREREQUISITES To know how to read and communicate correctly in Italian. have acquired the basic historical knowledge of the secondary school. If necessary, be able to read a text in a foreign language of the European Union in addition to your mother tongue.
