The theoretical module prepares and leads to the translation of the favela language, as it is represented in the collection of short stories O Sol na cabeça (2018) by the carioca Geovani Martins. AIMS AND CONTENT LEARNING OUTCOMES The teaching content will be geared towards refining translation techniques and consolidating expressive skills, as well as deepening lexicography and specialist terminology. AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES During the Theoretical Module (Prof. V. Caporali) we will proceed to the linguistic-translation analysis of some of the stories of O Sol na cabeça (2018), the first work of the Carioca writer Geovani Mar-tins. Author and topic have been chosen for their link with the topics that will be addressed in parallel in the literature course (prof. R. Francavilla). The lectures and the study of the shared material are aimed at - strengthen students' knowledge of the Brazilian variant of Portuguese (PB), providing elements of the linguistic history of Brazil and defining the main lexical and morphosyntactic changes with respect to the European variant of Portuguese (PE); - Introduce and historicize the concepts of norma padrão, norma culta and norma popular within the PB; - allow students to identify in Martins' stories the manifestations of the three normas and the diaphasic and diastatic oscillations attributable to the favela-environment; - work on the ability and limits of standard or neo-standard Italian in accepting and returning the language of the favela and in general the colloquial / informal variants of the PB. The practical module (prof. D. Correia) aims at the consolidation of the C1-C2 levels of the CEFR.
