CODE 80873 ACADEMIC YEAR 2022/2023 CREDITS 4 cfu anno 1 SCIENZE E TECNICHE DELLO SPORT 8749 (LM-68) - GENOVA SCIENTIFIC DISCIPLINARY SECTOR M-EDF/01 TEACHING LOCATION GENOVA SEMESTER 1° Semester MODULES Questo insegnamento è un modulo di: ANALYSIS OF MOVEMENT TEACHING MATERIALS AULAWEB OVERVIEW The main aim of the course in Technic Analysis in Sportsis to give the students the basis to design and implement qualitative and quantitative evaluations of the motor performance, with the final goal of improving the sport performance. The approach will be that typical of the scientific methods. AIMS AND CONTENT AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES At the end of the course the student should know: Movement analysis, history, field of application, scientific methods. A global approach to study, describe and analyze the human moment; How to evaluate the features of the motion by means of the on-line observation or video and images; Scientific research methods in sport; How to design a protocol to evaluate motor abilities with particular emphasis on the theory, methodology, techniques and instrumentations used during classes and laboratories; Digital technologies, software to acquire and analyze movement kinematics in laboratory and during execution in ecological conditions; How to search and read scientific papers; knowing the structure of a scientific paper and being able to write an example of scientific paper starting from the data collected in lab. TEACHING METHODS Classes (25%), problem based learning (25%), laboratories (50%). SYLLABUS/CONTENT Classes: scientific methodologies applied in sport field; basis of statistical methodologies; how to read the scientific sport literature; technologies to capture and analyze movement kinematics; how to evaluate movement from a qualitative and quantitative point of view; which kind of movement, motion environment, how to provide feedback by means of images and video; knowing proper movement dynamics. Laboratories: use of biomedical technologies such as infrared motion capture, electromyography, platform for postural analysis, accelerometers, transcranial magnetic stimulation, sensor-engineered glove to acquire finger movements, graphic tablet to acquire planar arm’s movements and software for video-analysis. Group activities: solving a problem shared with the other courses. RECOMMENDED READING/BIBLIOGRAPHY J.R.Thomas - J.K.Nelson - S.S.Silverman.
