OVERVIEW

The intensive inter-site workshop is the last training experience foreseen for the Degree Course in Green Area and Landscape Design: it is an opportunity to simulate an integrated design activity to be carried out in a limited time. Several possible locations are proposed on which to work at different scales, of enhancement and/or design.

AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES

The goal is the completion of the student's educational curriculum, to demonstrate the knowledge and skills acquired in the two-year period.

AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES

In the first week (usually in June), immersion in the landscape is proposed in the study area, to allow understanding the most significant aspects, also through contact with local administrators, experts and interested stakeholders. In the second week, group work is proposed in the classroom, supervised by a team of teachers and other involved subjects, interested in the subject of study. At the end, after a few days to complete the drawings, an evaluation of the works will be made.
At the end of the workshop the student will have to demonstrate the acquired skills to carry out an analysis, interpretation and evaluation of the landscape in a short time, from which to draw the guidelines for a project-process of enhancement, redevelopment or transformation for the analyzed study area.

TEACHING METHODS

The teaching will have an applicative slant, but will also be enriched by specific theoretical contributions with respect to the characteristics of the study area

SYLLABUS/CONTENT

In the first phase, on-site inspections and investigations will be carried out and seminars and meetings with local experts, administrators and stakeholders at different levels will be organized. At the end of the first week, yet, it will be possible to illustrate the analysis table and the first project ideas. In the second week, the tables of the general masterplan and the details on a more detailed scale will be studied in depth, by classroom reviews.
