    OVERVIEW

The course gives essential contents of mathematics which follow the subjects developed in the first year.

    AIMS AND CONTENT

    LEARNING OUTCOMES

The course develops topics associated with: the differential and integral calculus for composite functions of several variables, the Fourier series, and the functions of a complex variable. The student is required to learn the concepts (definitions), the formal derivations (proofs), and the application methods (solution of exercises).

    PREREQUISITES

Mathematical contents of the first year (Mathematical analysis, Geometry)

    SYLLABUS/CONTENT

Multiple integrals. Fourier series and application to periodic signals. Functions of a complex variable and use of residues. Analytical mechanics.

    RECOMMENDED READING/BIBLIOGRAPHY

Lecture notes provided by the teachers.

    EXAMS

    EXAM DESCRIPTION

The exam is oral and involves theoretical and applied topics given in the course,

Students with learning disorders ("disturbi specifici di apprendimento", DSA) will be allowed to use specific modalities and supports that will be determined on a case-by-case basis in agreement with the delegate of the Engineering courses in the Committee for the Inclusion of Students with Disabilities.

    ASSESSMENT METHODS

The student is required to be able to determine the Fourier series of a periodic signal, evaluate multiple integrals, determine integrals by means of residues, solve dynamic problems of material systems with a finite number of degrees of freedom
