OVERVIEW

The foundation of the course is the idea that the city and the territory can be interpreted through a series of analytical tools, strategies and visions that provide a representation independent of space and time. In this sense, the course is divided into two distinct but interconnected modules that explore urban and territorial phenomena, with a clear focus on new interpretations. One module will analyse urban facts spanning 9000 years and spanning the globe, with the hypothesis that a few - few - basic rules govern the processes of germination, development and transformation. The second module prefigures the elaboration of integrated and strategic projects starting from the interpretation of the construction phenomena of contemporary meta-urban structures, between cycles of abandonment, reuse and transformation, with particular attention to the relationship between infrastructures, architecture and design of the urban space.

AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES

The didactic path envisages both the use of "transversal" analysis tools (morphological analysis, network analysis, urban and territorial scaling), and tools for reading and directing urban strategy and design. All this opens up to disciplinary areas contiguous to architecture-urbanism, such as urban and regional geography, sociology, demography, spatial economics, ecology, in order to question the form and nature of the city, the objectives of the project, economic realities, social phenomena, practices of use and the challenges of change.
