OVERVIEW
History
The course will analyze the main methodologies of historical research, the historiographic theories and the sources necessary to construct the historical narrative. During the lessons the concept of archive will be explained and the methods of access to the sources will be described
Geography
The course aims to provide the main theoretical references and foundations of human geography and to illustrate some case studies for a reading of the territory in space / time.

Through a reflection on the scientific status of history and of the geography and on their close interdisciplinary relationships, the course - divided into two modules - intends to provide the methodological and analytical categories used by historical-geographical knowledge and stimulate critical approach to sources"

EXAM DESCRIPTION
History: For attending students the exam consists in writing a written essay on the course topics. The exam is exclusively oral for non-attending students (ie for those who have not attended at least 75% of the lessons).
Geography: For students attending the exam consists of a written test on the topics of the course. The exam is exclusively oral for non-attending students (ie for those who have not attended at least 75% of the lessons).
The following appeals are planned:
Three calls from January 2019 to February 2019
Four calls from May 2019 to July 2019
Two calls in September 2019
ASSESSMENT METHODS
Details on how to prepare for the exam and the degree of depth of each topic will be given during the lessons. The written document for attending students and the oral interview for non-attending students have the task of verifying that the student has:
- (History) including the modalities of elaboration of historical discourse in historiography and in the context of the public use of history through the various media.
- (Geography) learned to use the main conceptual categories of human geography, as well as acquired the specific scientific vocabulary.
