The course Ortopedia e Traumatologia aims to provide students the ability to understand and solve issues related to:
Lectures (20 hours).
Lectures are performed in all the teaching location by owners teachers and are explained with slides and videos. The Students/Teachers percentage report allows a direct comparison and an use of collaborative methodology, discussion about rehabilitation and working groups.
Students with certified LSD, disability or other special educational needs are encouraged to contact lecturers at the beginning of the course to agree on teaching methods that, while respecting the teaching objectives, take into account individual learning patterns and provide suitable compensatory tools
ORTHOPEDICS :
- Osteoporosis
- Osteochondrosis
- Complex regional pain syndrome
- Shoulder Pathologies (sub acromial impingement, lesion rotator cuff)
- Hip Dysplasia
- Paramorphisms of the lower limbs
- Scoliosis and kyphosis
- Spinal disorders: Lumbar Herniated Disc
- Bone Tumors
- Arthrosis and generality on prosthetic surgery.
TRAUMATOLOGY:
- Fractures, luxations and sprains
- Spine Fractures
- Fractures and dislocations of the upper limb
- Fractures and dislocations of the lower limb
- Knee lesions: meniscal and ligaments lesions.
Lessons: from October to December
Oral interview; the oral examination will be mainly directed to ensure a proper understanding of the theory discussed in the course.
Available 7 examination date.
Students with LSD or other regularly certified special educational needs will be able to agree with the professor on the written or oral mode of the examination, by contacting professors at least 10 days before the exam. They will also be able to take advantage of 30 % additional time

Girtler (nicolagirtler@unige.it ) and evaluated the single case, he will send to the teachers the necessary directions both for lessons development and for modality of examination
