OVERVIEW

The teaching of cardiologic rehabilitation is inserted in the context of the integrated course of Rehabilitation of visceral functions, which includes 4 disciplinary modules: oncologic rehabilitation, uro-genital rehabilitation, cardiologic rehabilitation, respiratory rehabilitation

AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES

To acquire the notions and critical tools on the surgical procedure and on the rehabilitation phase of cancer patients; to know the rehabilitative principles of the main urogynecological diseases of the pelvic floor; to know the assessment of the patient with respiratory and cardiological pathology, both medical and surgical, the indications and contraindications to the rehabilitation treatment and the most recent physiotherapeutic techniques.

AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES

The purpose of the course is to provide students, on the basis of scientific evidence and clinical experience, with basic knowledge on the assessment and rehabilitation approach of people suffering from acute, post-acute, chronic cardio-vascular diseases, medical and cardiac surgery type.
The teaching will also focus on the educational role of the physiotherapist in cardio-vascular prevention and in the reduction of risk factors.

Attendance to the course and individual study will allow the student to:

- understand and be able to describe the main features of the different cardio-vascular pathologies and the most frequent cardio-surgical interventions, learning to use adequate terminology;

-learn the indications and contraindications to rehabilitation treatment;

- identify the general and specific aims in cardiological rehabilitation;

- acquire the basic knowledge necessary to be able to carry out a correct assessment of a patient suffering from cardiovascular disease, also identifying the appropriate measurement scales and learning to interpret the meaning of the instrumental tests and their results.

- formulate, after the assessment and identification of the aims, an appropriate personalized treatment plan, in the criteria of efficacy and safety by following the "problem solving" approach.

TEACHING METHODS

The course is delivered face to face through classroom lectures with slides presentations. Clinical reasoning, critical thinking and t "problem solving" skills are also stimulated through the discussion of clinical cases.

Students with SLD, disability or other special educational needs certification are strongly encouraged to contact the teachers at the beginning of the course to agree on teaching methods that, in compliance with the teaching objectives, take into account individual learning methods and provide suitable compensatory instruments.
