The aim of the course is to provide students with the basic notions of group psychotherapy and family psychotherapy. At the end of the course the student will be able to: - to distinguish which growth steps may be within the group or family unit; - to recognize the psychopathology pictures where group or family psychotherapy can be suggested (for the latter with specific reference to when the child / adolescent is the member designated for the intervention); - to know the relational changes that occur during the therapy between the patient (s) and the psychotherapist; - classifying the elements to be considered as indicative of the conclusion of psychotherapy; - explain which components are necessary for the training of a group psychotherapist and /or of a family psychotherapist (theoretical knowledge, supervision in the group or family management, participation in experiential groups, etc.).
Lectures: 4 hours Experiential group with the screening of films: 6 hours
Group therapy: Indications and contraindications, selection and composition, therapeutic factors, mature group, end of therapy, training of therapists. Family therapy: Psychodynamic model, indications and contraindications, family function in the "here and now", first session with the family, treatment plan, end of therapy, training of therapists.

Oral examination. The score will be given on the basis of the answers to the queries (50%) and on the basis of the student's participation in the experiential group (50%).
The degree of knowledge of the subject, but also the critical and analytical skills achieved by the student will be evaluated.
