Knowledge of the concepts of prevention strategies in mental health. Knowledge of consultation psychiatry. Ability to critically integrate clinical and scientific knowledge. TEACHING METHODS Teaching methods through lectures and clinical cases with a wide debate on the issues addressed SYLLABUS/CONTENT The evolution of psychiatric thought and practice, with particular reference to the organization of mental health after Basaglia law. New legislation for the implementation of involuntary treatment, the state of necessity and the involuntary health check. Prevention in medicine and mental health: primary, secondary and tertiary prevention with particular attention to the prevention of suicide (clinical, socio-demographic and environmental variables). Consultation or liason psychiatry: advantages and disadvantages in the hospital. Clinical research in psychiatry: use of pubmed and difference between cross-sectional and longitudinal studies (prospective or follow-up). Knowledge about difference between guidelines (recommendation grade and level of evidence) and consensus.
