The course aims to develop skills in the field of Clinical Biochemistry and applicable Clinical Chemistry Techniques.
Acquire fundamental, basic and specialized notions on: • the main metabolic pathways - regulation mechanisms of carbohydrate, lipid and protein metabolism • structure and function of proteins • enzymology • intermediate glucidic, lipid and nitrogen metabolism • mechanism of action of hormones • acid/base balance • markers of function and lesion. Acquire clinical information on: • alterations of the carbohydrate, lipid and nitrogen compounds structure • clinical significance of the parameters of liver and kidney function. Know laboratory techniques for clinical chemistry determinations, electrophoretic techniques, spectrophotometry, potentiometry, nephelometry.
