The course is structured in two modules. In the first module, the processes for the production of fuels and materials are described and discussed. In the second module, chemical and biochemical processes and plants for energy production are described and discussed.
The course aims to provide an in-depth knowledge of the main industrial chemistry processes related to the production of energy, the production of fuels and biofuels (bioethanol, biodiesel, green diesel, bioils and biogas), the production of materials (metals, semiconductors, polymers), the processes of green chemistry and for the reduction of environmental impact.
A relatively in-depth knowledge of basic chemistry, physics and mathematics is required.

Two tests are held, one for each module, as indicated for the modules themselves.
Through the critical discussion of the characteristics of fuels and materials used at industrial level and the processes necessary to produce them, it will be possible to evaluate the student's knowledge and depth of understanding of the chemical, energy, economic and environmental aspects of chemical technologies associated with the development of energy technologies.
