A complex 12 credits course, which includes 4 classes: Russian-theory; LSP translation; Translation editing; Interpreting.
The course aims to develop knowledge of Russian at both declarative and procedural level, particularly improving students' abilities in bilingualism, bilingual switching, LSP translation, consecutive & liaison interpreting. Students will be also provided by self-training techniques.
The course aims to improve students' ablities in bilingual performances, including written LSP translation and consecutive interpreting.
C1/B2 level in Russian
All parts of the course uses different teachings methods based on recent neurolinguistic and psycholinguistic data
The theoretical course is focused on the Russian verb, particularly concerning a) morphology (prefixes and sufixes), b) verbal aspect, and - first of all - c) "глаголы движения" in their direct or metaphoric nuse. The postulate is that the verbal system is the main base required in upgrading the translation competence at the level both passive and active. Besides theoretical knowledge students will be provided qith instruction for the selftraining.

Ricevimento: During the first semester, students can meet Prof. Laura Salmon in her office (Piazza Santa Sabina 2, 2 fl.) once a week (Tue 12.30-13.30) or have individual distance meetings in Teams (use the Teams chat to contact Prof. Salmon and agree with her an available time). The student hour time in the second semester can change on the basis of the new schedule.

RUSSIAN LANGUAGE AND TRANSLATION I
The final exam includes 5 tests:
Theoretical course: written exam (1 hour) commentary of Puskin verse and their Italian translation
LSP translation: 3) written translation into Russian (1 hour, no dictionaries), the content is strictly consistent with the class training.
Translation editing: 4) written translation into Russian (1 hour, no dictionaries), the content is strictly consistent with the class training.
Interpreting: 5) interpreting performance (simulation) in consecutive translation from Russian into Italian (max. 10 minuts), the content is strictly consistent with the class training.
Teaching is based on psycholinguistic and neurilguistic data
Students certified with SLD, disabilities or other special education needs are advised to contact the instructor at the beginning of the course, in order to agree on teaching and exam methods that, in compliance with the course learning outcomes, take into account individual learning methods and provide suitable compensatory tools.
