The course aims at presenting the world of shipbuilding through in-depth analyses of Italian and international shipyards. At the coourse conclusion, educational vists to the shipyard will be planned.
moreover, hints on the leisure boat industry will also be provided during the course.
Knowledge of shipyard organisation and of the technologies adopted in the various shipyard workshops.
Students will be able to analyze in detail the design and management of a shipyard, as well as the organization of different workshops. Furthermore, they will acquire the ability to examine the facilities and technologies used in individual workshops, identifying innovative solutions and evaluating their impact on production and the quality of final results.

The teaching methods of the course include classroom lectures, during which students will have the opportunity to receive direct instruction from the teachers. Additionally, educational visits are planned, which will allow students to learn through practical experiences and field observations, providing a more concrete and applied approach to the topics covered in the lectures.

The exam consists of an oral test composed of three questions, each focusing on one of the topics covered during the course.
The first question will be of a general aspect, focusing on the economic, financial, and market elements associated with the shipbuilding industry. The second question will require a detailed description of a workshop within the shipyard, including an analysis of the machinery and technologies used within it. Finally, the third question will be about a specific technology used in the industry.
The assignment of the exam grade will take into account: 1) knowledge and understanding of the covered topics; 2) ability and clarity of exposition; 3 ability to solve problems related to the covered topics;
