OVERVIEW

The aim of the course is to give a general overview about climate change and Greenhouse gases emissions (GHG). The application of the Kyoto Protocol mechanisms the Paris Agreement and the EU Emission Trading System (2003/87/CE) will be discussed. Calculation and monitoring methodologies of the greenhouse gases for production plants under the Eu-ETS directive application will be analysed. Moreover general strategies of mitigation and adaptation will be introduced, using exercises and specific case studies
