AIMS AND CONTENT
The course shows the main features of integrated design within the design process, by examining relations and consequentiality between technical and economic feasibility studies, technical design and construction. The constructive process is illustrated in its phases of planning, design and construction and in its architectural, structural and plant components. During the course we will talk about the complexity of the construction design as a harmonious result of knowledge drawn from the technical, economic and legal field and of the time scheduling capacity, with reference to the entity for which the project is intended (contractor) and its purpose (the management of the work). B.I.M. method involves all the actors in the construction process such as the client, designers and other professional figures, builders, end-users and maintainers of the work. Design by this method is developed in nD associating to the three geometric dimensions also costs, times, management, maintenance and other topics. During the course software implementing this method and its innovative tools such as interoperability, L.O.D., L.O.I., model checking, clash detection, will be illustrated; those tools allow an entire constructive process high control. The management of the entire construction process can receive great advantages from the use of B.I.M. method because through its application it is possible to anticipate at the first planning stages most of the choices that generally occur on site during the works execution; it is possible to obtain a real quality, times and realization costs control.
