The main purpose of the course is to provide basic knowledge on general parasitology and on host-parasite interactions of protozoa, trematodes, nematodes and ectoparasites, to know how to morphologically recognize the species or groups of greatest parasitological interest, to know the pathologies determined by major human parasites.
The teaching is organized in frontal lessons for a total of 8 hours. In the event of a health emergency, frontal teaching can be carried in telematic mode.

Parasitology lessons begin at the end of the first semester generally in mid-January. In periods of health emergency they are held remotely using the TEAMS platform and the code to enter the classroom is communicated via Aulaweb/Unige.
The exam consists of an oral interview on the general parasitology part and on a topic chosen among the human parasitic diseases explained in class.
The achievement of the learning outcomes by the student will be ascertained by evaluating the oral interview.
