AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES

The main objective of the course is: to enable future health care assistants to realize that health education is a primary educational need to raise awareness of the importance of prevention in protecting the health of the individual and the community.

Make students realize that health education aims to make individuals that maintaining a satisfactory quality of life also depends on personal health and lifestyle habits.

AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES

At the end of the course, students must possess the main knowledge of health promotion and disease prevention. They must also demonstrate that they understand that prevention is essential to protecting the health of the individual and the community.

TEACHING METHODS

Frontal lessons and group activities to develop the subjects dealt with during the class lessons.

 

SYLLABUS/CONTENT

Health definition, risk factors and health factors. Ottawa Charter for Health Promotion. Strategy for health promotion. Health promotion and National Health System (NHS) and Regional Health System (RHS). Promotion of healthy lifestyles in different population groups. Health promotion actions in the school context.

The teaching contributes to reaching the following goals of Sustainable Development ONU 2030: goal 3, goal 4.

EXAMS

EXAM DESCRIPTION

Obligatory written examination consisting of 30 “closed-answer” questions with only one correct answer (one point for each correct answer) and of one “open” question. The open question will evaluate the student's level of detailed knowledge and use of appropriate language. The “open” question will be evaluated in a range between 0 (insufficient) and 3 (excellent).

Oral examination on request by the student, in order to improve the score obtained in the written examination.

ASSESSMENT METHODS

The written format has been adopted in order to ensure that the knowledge acquired during the entire course is assessed in an objective manner. This modality is deemed to be able to correctly evaluate the achievement of both the general and specific training objectives. In the oral examination, the student's level of knowledge, quality of exposition and ability to use appropriate vocabulary will be assessed.
