AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES

The aim of the module is to provide students with the skills needed to design multimedia content. Students will gain an understanding of the creative and technical aspects of the content production process, with a focus on the pre-production stages. The current condition of media hybridization and how the boundaries between them are thinning will be addressed. With particular reference to the world of video games and in general to interactive media used effectively for both communicating and learning.

Particular reference will be made to the world of video games and in general to interactive media used effectively for both communicating and learning.

Learning outcame expected:

- To gain awareness of transmediality using the video game as a vector.

- Basic skills in game design, audio and video making, screenplay, game writing and production.

- How to take into account available technologies, target audience and effectiveness of communication, both for the end user and a possible publisher.

TEACHING METHODS

Lecture and laboratory activities where students can put into practice and understand what has been discussed. The reference methodologies adopted are Learning by Doing and Active Learning.
