OVERVIEW

The teaching shows the plant engineering evolution generated by the technological impact of the 4 industrial revolutions, the applications of which have changed the way of managing the Factory. In particular, the impact on Operations in terms of IT, Robotics and Systems. Great attention will be paid to the most recent technological tools, concluding with the trends and guidelines set by the Consulting and Manufacturers reference. The benefits produced by a managed data flow that supports the flow of materials and information will be highlighted.

AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES

The course aims to make the student understand the digital technologies to support production, distribution and purchases processes and the potential offered by the digitalization of manufacturing companies in order to optimally manage production processes, collect automated data in real time and optimize production costs.

AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES

Provide Students with a theoretical and practical basis of Systems, Devices, Software and Methods characterizing the third and fourth Industrial Revolutions, the knowledge of which allows to continuously improve the management of the products and services offered, through the application of consolidated or innovative methodologies.

Teach Students to identify, correct and prevent problems in production plants and to use application tools to solve them or to mitigate their effects.

Develop Students' skills in the management of Digital Transformation projects, submitting them real business cases, to be solved with the methodologies learned.

Promote awareness of the transition of current production plants to the most modern dictates of Industry 4.0, through architectural, hardware and software transformation.

Help Students understand the characteristics of a Smart Factory, in order to find, in the future, an ideal location on the plant to be able to give value.

PREREQUISITES

It is appreciable, but not strictly necessary, to have previously attended the teaching of Industrial Plants.

TEACHING METHODS

The teaching methods are divided into 4 macro-phases:

- Orientation

- Training

- Case studies

- Technological trends and guidelines
