AIMS AND CONTENT LEARNING OUTCOMES The course aims to address the language in the context of Francophone culture in relation to economic issues based primarily on activity of reading, listening and discussion of various types of texts. The course aims at developing skills and transmit tools to read accurately and efficiently and simultaneously develop revision skills and synthesis in view of independent written or oral productions. AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES Knowledge and understanding: at the end of the teaching, the student will be able to explain the main notions in the field of economic language and business, be able to recognize the terminology specific to the field and the characteristics of economic texts and speeches in French. Ability to apply knowledge and understanding: upon completion of the teaching, students will be able to put the knowledge shared into practice through written and oral productions as well as solving practical cases from the business world. Autonomy of judgment: students will be able to use on conceptual and operational levels the acquired knowledge with autonomous evaluation skills and good ability in different application contexts. Communication skills: students will acquire the technical language typical of business French to communicate clearly, convincingly and unambiguously in differentiated, more or less specialized contexts. PREREQUISITES Students can also choose this Teaching as Beginners, aware that they need to provide a greater commitment to the study of grammar and vocabulary, intensively in the first semester and continuously in the second semester, in order to be able to adequately deal with the specialty language and reach the final B1+ level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. TEACHING METHODS The Teaching is conducted in a face-to-face, presential mode through Lezioni ufficiali (24 hours of Lectureship for each semester, i.e. 48 hours in total) and bi-weekly Lettorato (40 hours of Lectureship for each semester, i.e. 80 hours per year), from the end of September to the end of May, according to the Teaching Calendar of the current A.Y. The content of the lectures and tutorials along with all details about the Teaching are given in the AulaWeb. SYLLABUS/CONTENT The official lecture programme includes: - fundamentals of specialised languages - elements of economic and financial terminology in French - basics in the world of economics and business in the French language - elements of français des affaires et de l'entreprise The lettorato programme includes the main components of the French language at B1+ level and notions of economic terminology. Class schedule The timetable for this course is available here: Portale EasyAcademy EXAMS EXAM DESCRIPTION Lezioni ufficiali: written exam at the end of the module, graded in thirtieths. The exam will include a portion of closed-ended tests and the writing of a short written text including the specialized terminology covered in the course. Lettorato: Oral test of grammar and business knowledge at B1+ level Pro (economic-business language). The final grade is composed of the arithmetic average between the grade of the Lezioni ufficiali and the grade of the Lettorato. ASSESSMENT METHODS Lezioni ufficiali: the examination aims to test knowledge of specialized terminology and skills on economic notions and texts acquired during lectures. The ability to organize and communicate effectively in French the knowledge acquired will also be assessed. Lettorato: French language grammar and economy terminology.
