The teaching focuses on the presentation of the main neuropsychiatric disorders of the developmental age and on their management, with attention to the child and the family.
- To identify and outline the main etiological, pathophysiological and clinical elements of Autism Spectrum Disorders, Attentional Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder and Tic Disorders
-To analyze the main symptoms and clinical problems in Anxiety and Mood disorders and psychosis in developmental age
- To differentiate the clinical characteristics of mental health problems in childhood / adolescence, with particular attention to Eating Disorders and Behavioral Disruptive Disorders
- To evaluate the general principles of “taking care” in the neuropsychiatric field and the importance of integrated treatment and team work

At the end of the class, the student will be able to:
The class includes frontal lessons for a total of 10 hours and with the use of slides.
Students with certified DSA, disability or other special educational needs are encouraged to contact lecturers at the beginning of the course to agree on teaching methods that, while respecting the teaching objectives, take into account individual learning patterns and provide suitable compensatory tools
Elements of psychiatric semiology.
Main psychopathological constellations in pediatric age: depression, anxiety, psychosis.
Autism Spectrum Disorders.
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Oppositional-Defiant Disorder, Conduct Disorder.
Tic Disorders and Tourette Syndrome
Anorexia Nervosa and other eating disorders.

The lessons will start in the second semester in accordance with the didactic calendar
Oral. Score out of thirty attributed according to the degree of knowledge and training acquired.
Knowledge and comprehension will be evaluated through the formulation of specific questions, concerning the discipline, through the use of medical terms.
Autonomous judgement capability will be evaluated through the formulation of specific clinical scenarios.
Communication skills will be evaluated through the oral examination and the correct use of specific clinical terms and finally the learning skills will be evaluated through the request of specific notions concerning the discipline.
Students with Specific Learning Disorder or other regularly certified special educational needs will be able to agree on written or oral modalities with the teacher, by contacting the teachers at least 10 days before the exam. They can also take advantage of 30% additional time.
When a student is a certified DSA, it is required to contact the Referring Teacher of the DISABILITY and DSA Commission for DINOGMI: Prof. N. Girtler (nicolagirtler@unige.it ) and evaluated the single case, he will send to the teachers the necessary directions both for lessons development and for modality of examination
