AIMS AND CONTENT LEARNING OUTCOMES The unit RIABILITAZIONE IN REUMATOLOGIA aims to provide students with the knowledge of the patient's healing process, to define an appropriate rehabilitation action according to the biomedical and psycho-social model. As with all areas of physiotherapy, the assessment is very important; then, with exercise prescription and other therapies, physiotherapy improves and prevents the Rheumatic disorders of the musculoskeletal system AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES Attendance to the course and individual study will allow the student to: - know the clinical symptoms of rheunatological pathologies -to acquire basic elements to be able to differentiate the main rheumatological dysfunctional clinical pictures, both inflammatory and chronic degenerative - apply this knowledge and its understanding in the functional assessment process in physiotherapy - Identify the objectives of the physiotherapy intervention - Plan the construction of an integrated and multidisciplinary therapeutic program suitable for the pathologies addressed in the program At the end of the course the student will know: - integrate the knowledge for planning a rehabilitation intervention - carry out a specific functional evaluation in patients suffering from rheumatological diseases - develop a clinical reasoning, based on the results of the functional assessment and the identification of objectives, aimed at planning the physiotherapy intervention in the rheumatology field TEACHING METHODS The course consists of theoretical lectures for a total of 10 hours (1 CFU) Possibility of using collaborative teaching methodologies, guided discussions, work in small groups on the rehabilitation of rheumatological diseases Students with SLD, disability or other special educational needs certification are strongly encouraged to contact the teachers at the beginning of the course to agree on teaching methods which, respecting the teaching objectives, take into account individual learning methods and provide suitable compensatory instruments. SYLLABUS/CONTENT REHABILITATION IN RHEUMATOLOGY: GENERAL METHODOLOGICAL ASPECTS - Functional evaluation and rehabilitation approach to the rheumatic patient: classification of the state of health of the patient with rheumatological problems according to ICF and load capacity. - The physiotherapy-rehabilitation management of the main impairment conditions in the rheumatological patient: - The planning of the physiotherapy intervention REHABILITATION IN RHEUMATOLOGY: CLINICAL ASPECTS - Rehabilitation intervention in arthrosis of the large joints: hip, knee, shoulder - Role of physiotherapy intervention in senile and postmenopausal osteoporosis - Assessment and therapy of neck pain: postural neck pain, neck pain in rheumatoid arthritis, neck pain due to cervical arthrosis - Evaluation and therapeutic pathways of low back pain: postural low back pain, low back pain due to arthrosis, lumbosciatica, low back pain due to spondylolisthesis - Evaluation and therapeutic pathways in physiotherapy of back pain: postural back pain, Scheuermann's disease, back pain due to arthrosis - Rehabilitation intervention in extra-articular rheumatism: fibromyalgia, algic-myofascial syndromes and enthesopathies - Role of physiotherapy in type I CRPS: algoneurodystrophies (shoulder-hand s, foot algodystrophy, knee algodystrophy) CRPS type II: differentiation from the pathophysiological point of view. - Rehabilitation in the main inflammatory rheumatic diseases (rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondyloarthritis, scleroderma, reactive arthritis and connective tissue arthritis - Rehabilitation intervention in nerve compression syndromes: thoracic outlet syndrome (S of the scalenes, S costo-clavicular, S of the pectoral minor), compression of the ulnar and median nerve RECOMMENDED READING/BIBLIOGRAPHY The suggested supporting texts are: "Rehabilitation of rheumatic diseases: integrated approach" Tiziana Nava - Ed. The oral exam for rheumatological rehabilitation includes at least two questions asked by a teacher of the discipline. The grade will be mediated with that obtained in the other disciplines ASSESSMENT METHODS The oral exam is aimed at verifying the knowledge acquired relating to the programs of the discipline., The ability to critically analyze physiotherapy problems in rheumatology and describe the processes Language properties, clarity of presentation, consequentiality of reasoning and analytical capacity will also be evaluated. Students with SLD or with other regularly certified special educational needs will be able to agree with the teacher the written or oral modality, by contacting the teachers at least 10 days before the exam. They can also take advantage of 30% additional time .
