OVERVIEW

It is an integrated course that includes 6 disciplinary modules:

- Prosthetics, Orthesis and Occupational Therapy

- Special massage therapy and hydrokinesitherapy

- Manual therapy

- Rehabilitation in Orthopedics and Traumatology II

- Rehabilitation in Orthopedics and Traumatology of the hand

- Seminar: possible application of problem solving on clinical cases

AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES

Know the principles of clinical reasoning in various osteo-articular pathologies, including hand problems, acquire the assessment knowledge for the applicability of the various techniques, learn the specific interventions and the main concepts of manual therapy. Knowing elements of occupational therapy and the main types and characteristics of existing prostheses, orthoses and aids. Learn hydrokinesitherapy and special massage therapy techniques with their main fields of application.

PREREQUISITES

Basic knowledge acquired with the frequency of the lessons of the courses included in the study plan.
The study plan is structured so as to allow a gradual acquisition of knowledge and skills in the main subjects under study.

TEACHING METHODS

Lessons take place in the first semester of the third year through lectures that make use of slide projections. The modality is interactive and also includes projection of films, presentation of clinical cases and reading of fragments of specialized books.

The recommended texts are indicated in the cards of the individual courses of the Integrated Course

Students with SLD, disability or other special educational needs certification are strongly encouraged to contact the teachers at the beginning of the course to agree on teaching methods which, respecting the teaching objectives, take into account individual learning methods and provide suitable compensatory instruments.

EXAMS

EXAM DESCRIPTION

The exam will be carried out orally with at least two questions for each single course on the topics included in the program

ASSESSMENT METHODS

The exam will mainly focus on the topics covered during the lectures and in any case on all those specified in the program.

Students with SLD or with other regularly certified special educational needs will be able to agree with the teacher the written or oral modality, by contacting the teachers at least 10 days before the exam. They can also take advantage of 30% additional time.
