AIMS AND CONTENT LEARNING OUTCOMES Acquire knowledge concerning the physical mechanisms of refraction and their application at the level of the eye. In particular, understand the phenomena related to the anomalies resulting from the refraction defects and the risks / benefits of the different correction systems available, tempial lenses, contact lenses and refractive surgery. AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES The course aims to teach the methodology of ametropic correction in each age group and hypovision. It also indicates the conventional perimetric techniques not indicated in the different pathologies. TEACHING METHODS The course includes lectures and practices for a total of 30 hours and with the use of slides SYLLABUS/CONTENT Role of the orthoptist Approach to the patient Conventional perimeter techniques Unconventional perimeter techniques Limits of techniques Exam description Choice of the exam The examination of the visus in age, preverbal, verbal and adult age: the refractive defects, the various optotypes Subjective and objective evaluation methods Correction of refractive defects The balance of correction in anisometropy Presbyopia and its correction.
