The course has as its main aims and learning outcomes:
- the acquisition of foundational knowledge regarding General Pedagogy and its objects of study.
- the development of an autonomous capacity for critical-problematic processing aimed at recognising, understanding, interpreting and addressing pedagogical problems, also in relation to the health of human beings.
- the achievement of the educational-relational skills necessary for the professional midwife and the development of greater awareness of its pedagogical role in healthcare environments and in the community.
The lessons are held in the presence of the teacher and are mainly frontal in nature. The course may include group activities and seminar or practical-operational insights.
In examining the theoretical and practical dimensions connected with training, education and instruction, the course program will mainly consist of the following contents: the scientific-epistemological structure of General Pedagogy; the human being as subject and recipient of science; care and clinic in pedagogy; the relationship between formative-educational-instructional processes and the health of human beings; the trans-disciplinary connection that link pedagogical sciences with medical sciences and maternal-child sciences; the categories of pedagogical discourse in the midwifery profession.
In general compliance with the "Sustainable Development Goals" established by the UN Agenda 2030, Teaching is specifically committed to promoting "Objective 4. Provide quality, equitable and inclusive education and learning opportunities for everyone".
