This aim is achieved through identification and removal of disease causes or risk factors in the environment and strengthening of protective factors, as well as through public health interventions and health education of people. AIMS AND CONTENT LEARNING OUTCOMES To provide the essential knowledge about: - health concept, health protection and promotion, health education; - identification and control of the main causes of disease and environmental risk factors; - epidemiology and prevention of the main infectious and chronic-degenerative diseases. AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES To provide the essential knowledge about: - health concept and its evolution; - health protection and promotion through different prevention and education strategies; - identification, control and removal of the main causes of disease and risk factors in the environment and workplaces; - epidemiology and prevention of the main infectious and transmissible diseases; - epidemiology and prevention of the main chronic-degenerative diseases (cardiovascular diseases, neoplastic diseases, diabetes, neurodegenerative diseases).
