OVERVIEW

For a long time considered in the social sciences as a residual argument, the sport phenomenon is now recognized as one of the contemporary elements.

AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES

The course aims to illustrate, in a sociological perspective, the sport as a social phenomenon, considering the economic, cultural and organizational aspects.

Sports and social theory, origins and development of sport, culture, social groups, socialization, globalization, environment and nature, body, technology of competition and loisir.

At the end of the of the course, you will have to know the interpretation of the sport in the social sciences and the problems of motor activity in the contemporary world.

TEACHING METHODS

Frontal lessons.

Any Student with documented Specific Learning Disorders (SLD), or with any special needs, should contact the Lecturer(s) and to the dedicated SLD Representative in the Department before class begins, in order to liaise and arrange the specific teaching methods so that the learning aims and outcomes may be met.

Sport and social sciences, authors, origins and development of the sport, culture, social groups, socialization process, environment and nature, the body, technologies of competition, leisure and welfare state.

EXAMS

EXAM DESCRIPTION

The exam consists of a written paper and an oral exam on the program carried out and the recommended texts. The topic of the written paper will be agreed with the teacher and must be sent by mail before the oral exam.

 In case of certification of specific learning disability, disability or other special educational needs, the University legislation and regulations on disability and SLD are applied. ASSESSMENT METHODS

The written paper and the oral exam will verify the acquisition of the acquired knowledge of the teaching. The questions will allow to evaluate the knowledge learned during the lessons with the knowledge acquired during individual study on the recommended reading. The written paper and the oral exam will aim to evaluate not only the achievement of an adequate level of basic knowledge, but also the acquisition of the ability to analyze critically the questions that will be asked during the exam.
