AIMS AND CONTENT

AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES

Provide expertise on nutrition and nutrition in physiology and sport, highlighting food and nutrition pathologies that can become more frequent in the sporting environment.

TEACHING METHODS

In-person lessons.
Synchronous online teaching activity guaranteed in case of emergency (weather alert, pandemic).

In case of certification of specific learning disability, disability or other special educational needs, please contact both the Department contact person, Prof. Nicola Girtler, and the lecturer at the beginning of the lectures to agree on teaching and exam methods which, in compliance of the teaching objectives, take into account individual learning methods and provide suitable compensatory/dispensatory tools recognized by the University SLD Student Service.

LARN and the GUIDELINES for correct nutrition and prevention of chronic degenerative diseases
Body composition: skinfold measurements and BIA
bioenergetics of nutrients in exercise and training
Correct nutrition during sporting activities
Choice of nutrients, food supplements and energy drinks and ergogenic supports
Post-workout recovery: when and how to intervene with targeted nutrition
Role of targeted physical activity for weight loss
Sports and nutrition and eating disorders

EXAM DESCRIPTION

At the end of the lessons, an optional ongoing test is carried out which consists of a multiple choice quiz lasting 30 minutes, 30 questions, 1 point per question. The grade obtained is averaged with the grade of the exam which consists of a paper with an open-ended question on the topics covered in class.

ASSESSMENT METHODS

The following are assessed during the exam: knowledge of the topic, completeness of the response to the questions requested, appropriateness of language, ability to summarize. The vote is expressed in /30.
