OVERVIEW

The Integrated Course "Technical Aspects of Sports Performance 2" is made up of 3 different courses: Science and techniques of swimming sports, Science and technique of individual sports, and Tennis.

The integrated course provides basic notions relating to competitive aquatic activity, motor activity in individual sports and basic motor activity in tennis.

AIMS AND CONTENT

AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES

At the end of the course the students:
- know the differences between movement in the terrestrial and aquatic environments;
- know the characteristics of the different physical and sporting activities that take place in water;
- are able to apply correct teaching methodologies, with specific application reference to swimming, to plan and carry out physical activities in an aquatic environment;
- have in-depth skills in individualized physical preparation for different types of sports;
- know how to choose and use general and special means, methods and tools suitable for achieving the various objectives of the athlete's physical preparation, including specific preventative ones aimed at the recovery of the injured athlete;
- have in-depth skills in studying the performance model using scientific methods;
- be able to design and implement a training plan aimed at youth activities or high-level athletes.

In this course the teacher gives lessons on the theory and technique of sporting activity through lectures and technical experience on the playing fields.

TEACHING METHODS

Any Student with documented Specific Learning Disorders (SLD), or with any special needs, should contact the Lecturer(s) and to the dedicated SLD Representative in the Department before class begins, in order to liaise and arrange the specific teaching methods so that the learning aims and outcomes may be met.
