AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES

The student will acquire the basic knowledge in the national language and a glimpse at national culture and heritage of the hosting country

Group work, role playing, conversation on given topics, reading, written exercises, language games, outings to the local area, cultural appointments in the city

SYLLABUS/CONTENT

Communicative functions: some of the communicative functions will be presented and practiced. most commonly used (e.g., giving and asking for personal information , introducing yourself and introducing someone in formal and informal context and respond to introduction, greeting and responding to meet/ greet greetings, thanking and responding to a thank you, apologizing and responding to apologies, invite and accept or decline an invitation, wish and respond to greetings, express preferences and inquire about others' preferences, express liking and likes, express and
ask for membership, ask and tell the time, inquire or give information about schedules, express and ask for dates, ask and tell the price of a good or service, affirm or deny something, ask for permission and respond to a request for permission, ask for and give a simple directions on the street, ask for the meaning and/or translation of a word, say di/o not having understood, ask to repeat something you did not understand or to speak more slowly, order something at a bar, restaurant or other public place, etc. )
