- Reading and listening to short authentic or simplified texts, headlines, notices, functional texts such as leaflets and advertisements, informational texts, short emails, telephone answering machines, forms, etc,

SYLLABUS/CONTENT

Communicative Functions: Communicative functions of greatest occurrence in everyday interactions will be presented and practiced through communicative tasks, e.g.: talking about oneself and asking for simple biographical information, expressing moods, feelings, attitudes, interests, Talking about oneself and asking for simple biographical information, expressing moods, feelings, attitudes, interests, talking about habitual actions (of the day, of the week), briefly identifying and describing people, objects, places and environments, locating objects and people in space,
propose, solicit proposals and express themselves on them, give simple instructions, orders, prohibitions..., express opinions, judgments with simple structures (for me..., in my opinion..., my opinion...), talk about their short-term plans (tomorrow, this weekend), ask about programs and projects, ask and give information about getting around the city, region, country, formulate simple hypotheses, recount personal past events (vacations, trips, meetings, experiences...), describe a situation, object, place (rooms and furniture) or people in the present or past tense, place objects in space, offer, accept, refuse help, talk about
about the weather, book goods and services, order food and drinks in a restaurant/bar, call someone's attention, express wishes, requests, express doubts or reservations (not I'm sure, maybe...), etc.

RECOMMENDED READING/BIBLIOGRAPHY

Authentic texts specifically produced (including ad personam) according to
the students' needs and path (textbooks, articles from the periodical press, easy
audio and video texts, etc.). Reference will be made to: Ciro Massimo Naddeo, Euridice Orlandono, "Ten, Italian Lessons," Matteo La Grassa, L'italiano all'università 1, and, in addition,to grammars:Marco Mezzadri, Essential Grammar of the Italian Language with Exercises;
