The course provides an overview of healthcare simulation, and how new technologies that can improve medical training. The materials include an introduction on the theories supporting medical training, followed by a part on simulation metodologies. Also, the course analyzes how different technologies can be used for medical training and assessment, and how these technologies are used in different medical specialities.
This course aims to provide the studento with the following skills:
Basic programming and electronics knowledge
Lectures,
Talks by experts (i.e., clinicians, instructors; engineers working in the healthcare simulation field)
Hands-on groups activities

Written and oral exams
The written test will assess the acquisition of theoretical knowledge (e.g. simulation types and methods; technologies for healthcare simulation; existing solutions)
The oral part will cover lectures, seminars, and groups activity with the goal of evaluating if the students reach a sufficient knowledge level and if they can critically analyze problems related to medical training and assessment, also providing solutions
