The Analytical Chemistry module provides a general overview of the principles and role of the discipline, from the sample treatment to the data processing, including the main instrumental techniques of analysis (spectroscopy, mass spectrometry, chromatography), with particular emphasis on the field of materials science. Both modules pay great attention to the connections with the concepts acquired in the General Chemistry with Laboratory course (110732), as well as to the technological implications in industrial production and materials science. AIMS AND CONTENT TEACHERS AND EXAM BOARD NADIA PARODI Ricevimento: By appointment. email: nadia.parodi@unige.it FRANCISCO ARDINI Ricevimento: The teacher is always present in the Department. It is recommended to arrange an appointment by e-mail. Exam Board NADIA PARODI (President) ANNA MARIA CARDINALE SIMONA DELSANTE MARCO GROTTI FRANCISCO ARDINI (President Substitute) EXAMS EXAM DESCRIPTION The exam consists of a written test and an oral test. Before taking the exam, students must register online on the appropriate site. The General and Laboratory Chemistry exam is preparatory. To access the exam it is necessary to have followed the laboratory activities and submitted the relevant reports. ASSESSMENT METHODS The exam consists of a written test (preliminary) and an oral test (subject to passing the written test), which cover topics from both modules of the course. The written test consists of exercises similar to those tackled during the course and descriptive questions. The oral test, reserved for students who have successfully completed the written test (≥18/30), is public. The oral examination aims to ascertain the possession of knowledge and the level of depth in the subject achieved by the student. The final grade, a single mark, is calculated as the average of the written test and the oral test, in addition to the assessment of laboratory experiences and the evaluation of the related reports.
