OVERVIEW

The course aims to develop skills in the field of Clinical Biochemistry and applicable Clinical Chemistry Techniques.

AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES

Acquire fundamental, basic and specialized notions on: the main metabolic pathways - regulation mechanisms of carbohydrate, lipid and protein metabolism; structure and function of proteins; enzymology intermediate carbohydrate, lipid and nitrogen metabolism mechanism of action of hormones acid/base balance function markers and of injury. Acquire clinical information on: alterations of the carbohydrate, lipid and nitrogen compounds structure - clinical significance of the parameters of liver and kidney function. Know laboratory techniques of electrophoretic techniques of serum proteins and urine; production of radiopharmaceuticals through the use of a circular particle accelerator (cyclotron); production of the required isotope, sending of the material to the synthesis module, preparation of the radiopharmaceutical, execution of quality controls for the release of the radiopharmaceutical (injectability for performing the PET; The Immunometry Techniques course aims to describe the main technical methods used for the execution of immunometric tests both with manual methodology and with automatic instruments.The dilution techniques most used in the analysis laboratory are also illustrated
