AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES

Acquiring basic knowledge in the field of mechanical systems. Understanding and using the framework of analytical mechanics for the resolution of various mechanical problems.

AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES

At the end of the learing path the student will be able to:

- describe the dynamics of free and constrained systems of material points
- describe the dynamics of rigid bodies
- use the Euler-Lagrange equations to descrube those dynamics
- find equilibrium configurations of mechanical systems
- analyze the stability of equilibrium configurations of those systems

TEACHING METHODS

The course consits in 60 hours of lectures. During these lectures the lecturer will present the theory and some of its applications

EXAMS

EXAM DESCRIPTION

The exam consists of an oral test about the topics covered during the course and it will be about both the theoretical aspects and the applications studed during the lectures.

Students with learning disorders ("disturbi specifici di apprendimento", DSA) will be allowed to use specific modalities and supports that will be determined on a case-by-case basis in agreement with the delegate of the Engineering courses in the Committee for the Inclusion of Students with Disabilities.

ASSESSMENT METHODS

The oral exam aims to verify the level of knowledge achieved by the student and the ability to solve specific problems.
