OVERVIEW

The training activity has the objective of applying the acquired knowledge in a professional context.

The training activity can be carried out on board ships in accordance with national and international laws (eg possession of the navigation booklet, the qualification of officer cadet, or officer).

The training activity can, alternatively, be carried out on land according to the national laws or the laws of the country in which the activity is carried out.

The curricular internship has the objective of including the student in a specific working reality of enbarquement or in industry in maritime sector.

The training activity can be carried out on board ships in accordance with national and international laws (eg possession of the navigation booklet, the qualification of officer cadet, or officer).

The training activity can, alternatively, be carried out on land according to the national laws or the laws of the country in which the activity is carried out.

It is possible to carry out a set of training activities to obtain the total number of required credits .

The result of the learning is represented by the skills described in the STCW convention for Deck, Engine and Electrotechnical Officers. Given the time limitation of the training activity, the skills acquired are not exhaustive but contribute to the training of the Officer.

PREREQUISITES

The activity can be carried out after the completion of the most of the exams.

TEACHING METHODS

Learning by doing under the supervision of a qualified mentor.

At the end of the training, you must book the exam to register the credits.

SYLLABUS/CONTENT

The following types of training activities are foreseen:

  • boarding with the qualification of cadet or higher: duration 3/4 months
  • training activities in the company on land: duration 4/5 months

Shore-based activities can be carried out at:

  • research laboratories of universities, public and private bodies;
  • public and private maritime training institutions.

The following table is a guideline for Credit (CFU) certification/recognition.

1 every 8 hours and passed the exam 

 

At the end of the training, you must book the exam to register the credits.
