OVERVIEW

Cosmetic Products is divided into two parts, one purely chemical, technological and formulative, the second is concerning all regulatory aspects, with particular attention to the European Cosmetic Regulation 1223/09. This second part is treated in collaboration with a professional figure with extensive expertise, to give a more practical vision of the cosmetic supply chain, and of related problems. The final aim is to bring the students as close as possible to the cosmetic world to measure their skills.

The course is carried out through frontal teaching. Students are provided with the slides presented and explained, to be integrated with their notes. Textbooks are recommended but not required.

At the end of the program there will be a session of exam simulations and team work with case studies

AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES

Through the knowledge of all the classes of ingredients and through the study of the different cosmetic forms, it is intended to lead the student to move in the cosmetic field in an autonomous, professional and critical way thanks to the tools useful to distinguish and evaluate the different products on the market, taking informations by the correct approach to the label. The course also intends to provide the necessary skills to access to any subsequent further studies and advanced training courses.
