OVERVIEW

The course aims to provide students with the foundations for the study of industrial plants. Basic concepts relating to energy and the management of the main machines that can be found within an industrial plant will be introduced. The water, compressed air, steam, oil and fuel gas supply systems will be dealt with, as well as the basic operation of electric motors.

AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES

At the end of the course, the student must have acquired the main knowledge concerning the structure and operating principle of industrial plants, in terms of: organization and management of the transformation process from raw materials to finished goods, reliability of complex systems, role of human resources and industrial automation, production flows and layouts, ability to measure the performance of an industrial plant.

AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES

Aims and Learning outcomes:

- comprehension of the main physical variables in play in a traditional industrial plant; tradizionale;

- knowledge of the main services required for the operation of an industrial plant;

- knowledge of the processes typically present in an industrial plant;

- sensitivity to the safety and environmental sustainability of an industrial plant.

Assignment and written exam

ASSESSMENT METHODS

The exam consists of the following tests:

a multiple choice quiz of 20 questions for a maximum score of 25 points out of 30

the delivery within the day of the exam session of the compulsory exercises (assignments) for a maximum score of 5 points out of 30

Anyone wishing to receive "honours" will have to take an oral exam.
