CODE 111168 ACADEMIC YEAR 2024/2025 CREDITS 6 cfu anno 1 INGEGNERIA GESTIONALE 8734 (LM-31) - GENOVA SCIENTIFIC DISCIPLINARY SECTOR ING-IND/35 TEACHING LOCATION GENOVA SEMESTER 2° Semester MODULES Questo insegnamento è un modulo di: ECONOMICS AND INNOVATION MANAGEMENT TEACHING MATERIALS AULAWEB AIMS AND CONTENT LEARNING OUTCOMES Teaching aims to provide the strategic and managerial knowledge necessary for managing technological innovation and innovation ecosystems AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES Once completed the course, the student will be able to: apply the knowledge learned to the analysis of investment decisions in R&D and innovation; understand the functioning mechanisms of markets characterized by network externalities and intangible assets; formulate evaluation judgments on the effects of the leading public intervention policies in the above markets; coordinate knowledge and related methodologies to oversee the logic of innovation processes within the Innovation Ecosystem (IE); apply the skills developed aiming to lead the dynamics of the product and service innovation, process innovation, and corporate business models innovation; demonstrate know-how, according to the needs of the innovation challenges, managing innovation projects and the intellectual property rights (IPR) protection; evaluate the innovation models within IEs and the related financial implications arising from Capital Markets; assess how to deal with the new markets and the emerging growth opportunities of large enterprises and start-ups through the creative-destruction, non-destructive creation, and disruptive change approaches. TEACHING METHODS The lessons are based on the presentation and explanation of the course contents, and on the following discussion of specific case-studies aiming at applying the contents within business contexts. SYLLABUS/CONTENT The content is divided into the following five parts: Building a shared language of innovation; Innovation and its challenges; Engaging with corporate stakeholders in innovation ecosystems; Leading innovation in an innovation ecosystem framework; Biopharma Innovation ecosystems.
