OVERVIEW

The course focuses on the development of concepts for sailing and motor boats with a particular focus on internal and external design and ergonomic elements and introduces the student to new methodologies for approaching design.

AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES

The unit provides students with the instuments and method needed to approach saling and motor yachts interior/exterior design.

AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES

Constant Activity and exchange in the classroom with the entire study group will allow the student to learn new tools to:

Analyze design in general (nautical and non-nautical) and read its form and function

Study and apply the basic concepts of technical drawing representation

Study, assimilate and start using nautical terms

Analyze and apply concepts of ergonomics and space distribution (interior/exterior) in order to maintain the correct volume/form/function ratio

Analyze and apply concepts of verbal and graphic communication in order to best present one's work

PREREQUISITES

Being a master's degree, the student must have acquired the following knowledge necessary to best face the course themes:

Knowledge of the nautical world (sailing/motor)

Knowledge of the software: Autocad 2D

Knowledge of the software: Rhinoceros 3D

Knowledge of any software for rendering

Knowledge of any software for layout and printing

TEACHING METHODS

Theory lessons

Exercise activities for the final exam project evolution

Students group building depending on the total number of students

Classroom Design and Review on each group final exam projects
