OVERVIEW

The course aims to provide (i) an in-depth knowledge of the main lexical and
morpho-syntactic features of Italian Languages for Special Purposes (LSPs):
economic, legal, medical, etc.; (ii) a set of textual tools for the analysis
and translation of such texts into Italian.
 

AIMS AND CONTENT

LEARNING OUTCOMES

The course aims to provide: (i) an overview of the main lexical,
morpho-syntactic and textual features of LSPs in Italian, with particular focus
on legal language; (ii) a set of tools to be used in the translation of such
texts into Italian, on the background of the discussion of problems faced by
legal translation within institutional multilingual contexts, such as the
European Union.

TEACHING METHODS

Two contact hours plus a distance hour every week, in which students will
prepare a short presentation, to be given in the following weeks. All course
material will be on AulaWeb.
