The theoretical module deals with language variation in a sociolinguistic perspective. AIMS AND CONTENT LEARNING OUTCOMES The course aims at giving students advanced knowledge and competences both in terms of tools for metalinguistic analysis and in-depth analysis of specific points. It is accompanied by practical language courses, held by native French teachers, at an advanced level. AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES At the end of the course the student will be able to: - use oral and written French at level C1; - express knowledge about linguistic variation phenomena; - recognize and interpret such phenomena in the context of French by using linguistic theory on variation; - manipulate texts which present variation phenomena.
