At the end of the course, the student will learn elements allowing her/him to evaluate the complexity of an oncologic patient, as well as information on the multidisciplinarity of the approaches to such a patient. Furthermore, the student will develop knowdedge on the epidemiology of the most common cancers, general and specific risk factors. Additionally, the patient will understand the concept of staging, tumor markers and their application in clinical practice, as well as base knowledge on cancer therapies, with information on the indications for chemotherapy and radiation therapy, as well as their main toxicities. Finally, the students will understand the concept of response evaluation during cancer treatment.

Principles of systemic treatments in oncology with their roles and most common types of antineoplastic agents
Integrated therapeutic approach to cancer patients
Toxicities of systemic agents and radiation therapy and their management
Evaluation of response to treatment in oncology
Knowledge of preparation and administration of anticancer treatments in collaboration with other healthcare professionists; premedication with antiemetic agents
