OVERVIEW

Landscape design requires a multidisciplinary ability to read and understand the project site. The Intensive Workshop proposes an integrated design path that expresses cultural contents starting from the interpretation of the context at different dimensional levels and in coherence with the transformations that have characterized it and with the needs of the inhabitants.

AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES

The intensive experience simulates possible professional experiences in which concentrated work will be necessary in a tight time frame, working in synergy with experts from different disciplines and local stakeholders, to propose strategic visions of landscape enhancement.

TEACHING METHODS

Intensive workshop with study visits, seminars by experts and local administrators, review of analysis documents, master plans and in-depth landscape design.

SYLLABUS/CONTENT

The work involves an immersive experience in the first residential week in the study area, with reading of the characteristics of the landscape, identification of critical issues and potential, to define a valorization strategy. This is followed by a week at the University, in which the students work under the supervision of the teachers on the analysis tables, master plans and in-depth design studies.
