OVERVIEW

The final exam consists of the discussion of a thesis originally developed by the candidate, it must be of a scientific and technical nature and must be developed under the guidance of a professor with the role of supervisor and any co-supervisors.
During the final exam the candidate must demonstrate:
- having developed awareness of the topics covered;
- having achieved analysis and synthesis skills, critical sense, autonomy of judgment;
- possess written, graphic and oral expressive skills in both expository and logical-argumentative direction;
- knowing how to identify the objectives and prospects for their own continuous training.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

The final examination consists of the discussion of a written paper aimed at ascertaining the candidate's technical, scientific and professional preparation.

EXAMS

ASSESSMENT METHODS

The evaluation is based on the following elements:
- average of the grades of the exams taken expressed in hundredths;
- increase from 0 to 6 points for the thesis awarded by the commission;
- 1 point for 3 or more honors;
- any period spent abroad for the preparation of the thesis or a significant part of it;
- duration of the candidate's studies.
The degree exam is passed if the final grade is at least 66/110.
The awarding of honors requires the unanimity of the commission (provided that the total score reaches 110/110) and is motivated by the excellent quality of the thesis and the high score of the candidate in the context of his/her educational curriculum.
The dignity of printing requires the unanimity of the commission and can be granted to research theses that present particularly innovative content, regardless of the final score achieved.
