CODE 60196 ACADEMIC YEAR 2024/2025 CREDITS 11 cfu anno 2 INGEGNERIA CHIMICA E DI PROCESSO 10376 (LM-22) - GENOVA TEACHING LOCATION GENOVA TEACHING MATERIALS AULAWEB OVERVIEW The final exam consists in the writing of a thesis, elaborated by the student in an original way under the guidance of one or more supervisors, focused on in-depth activities on theoretical or applicative problems or on project development activities perfected in the context of a company internship or within the laboratory at departmental facilities. The final test consists in the presentation and discussion of a written thesis in front of a special commission, aimed at ascertaining the candidate's technical-scientific preparation. AIMS AND CONTENT LEARNING OUTCOMES The degree thesis is aimed at developing students' skills in the analysis, modeling, resolution and presentation of results relating to complex chemical engineering problems. The thesis consists in the creation of a detailed report on certain engineering topics, thus improving students' skills in preparing professional reports and projects for their next professional career. AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES The thesis, carried out in university laboratories, companies and national and international research institutions, must reveal the student's ability to address research and/or application problems. The thesis must consist of a project and/or the development of an application that proposes innovative solutions compared to the state of the art and demonstrates the student's analytical and design skills. TEACHERS AND EXAM BOARD Exam Board MARCO PANIZZA (President) EXAMS EXAM DESCRIPTION The procedure for the final exam consists in the oral presentation of the degree thesis by the student to the Final Examination Commission, followed by the discussion of any questions raised by the members of the Commission. The teaching regulations of the degree course (art. 12) contain what is required for the final exam. ASSESSMENT METHODS The thesis must also reveal: - ability to tackle complex problems with a multidisciplinary approach - correct use of sources and bibliography; - systematic and argumentative skills; - clarity in exposition; - design and experimental skills; - critical skills.
