The course has a value of 9 CFU for the LM38, including the lettorato and theory module. All the information on lettorati is available online: https://lingue.unige.it/node/1007 AIMS AND CONTENT LEARNING OUTCOMES At the end of the course, the students will have acquired deep knowledge and expertise in the field of French discourse analysis, both in terms of meta-linguistic analysis tools and thematic aspects, including institutional and political discourses. AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES At the end of the course, the student will be able to: - identify the different types and functions of metaphors in institutional and political discourse; - analyse the dynamics of institutional and political texts through the tools of French-style discourse analysis (AD); - identify the tools of argumentation in political and institutional discourse, also from the perspective of intercultural mediation. PREREQUISITES C1 level of the Common European Framework TEACHING METHODS Plenary lessons and consolidation activities in small groups projects. Students with certified DSA, disabilities or other special educational needs are advised to contact the lecturer at the beginning of the course in order to agree on teaching and examination methods that, while respecting the teaching objectives, take into account individual learning methods and provide suitable compensatory tools. Non frequentanti students are advised to prepare in depth the texts indicated in the bibliography and the materials that will be made available by the lecturer on the Aulaweb. SYLLABUS/CONTENT communication, with particular reference to the metaphorical figure as a framing tool. In particular, the identification and analysis of metaphors in institutional communication will be addressed, also through the tools of corpus linguistics. Main topics: - theories of metaphor and conceptual metaphor theory (CMT); - tools for analysing political discourse in the French language; - mediatisation strategies of institutional discourse in French; - corpus analysis tools. The skills acquired in the field of institutional discourse analysis through the analysis of authentic texts and oral expression skills in French will then be taken into account. Evaluation out of thirty. ASSESSMENT METHODS The theoretical module exam aims to verify the acquisition of theoretical knowledge concerning French speech analysis and the ability to apply this knowledge by the concrete analysis of a corpus. The lettorato exams are designed to test the acquisition of complex texts comprehension and production skills in French at C1-C2 level.
